Don't Eat Dad!

We were eating dinner last night and I did something that I hate - I was picking food out of my teeth. Nick said to me "You'd eat me alive if I did that at the dinner table." I told him that I would eat him alive. Addie looked at me really concerned and said "Don't eat my dad, MOM! He's my favorite dad. I LOVE him." It was really funny. She didn't understand why I was laughing so hard at her. Oops I guess we'll have to watch what we say. She takes things a little too literally.

A Visit From Our Favorite Heather

Okay, so I hope I don't know any other Heather's who are going to send me hate mail but we did have a visit from our favorite Heather - just ask Addie. She told me the whole time we were driving to and from meeting Heather "Mom, Heather's my favorite!" And she is. We were so excited that she and Mike were so close to Erie and that she was willing to come and see us. So thanks Heather. It was so fun to see you. I'll still keep my fingers crossed that you might live close by us next year. We would love that!

And what's another post without a picture of Olivia and Addie. I bought this cute little outfit for Olivia when I was shopping with Heather. I think she looks so cute!

Last Saturday, Sister Beck came and spoke in Pittsburgh. I got to leave the girls with Nick and have a girls day out with some friends from the ward. Nick was so excited that he could stay home and that the University of Utah game was on TV. I came home to this picture and Addie now yelling Go Utes! I'm trying to train her back to Go Cougars! Thanks to Grandma CoCo, who didn't want to ruffle any feathers with Nick, she is fully stocked with Utah and BYU gear.

Random Pictures

I thought I'd post some more random pictures of our girls. They are so much fun and keep us laughing all the time.

Olivia still has her big blue eyes. Maybe I might end up with a blue eyed girl. Her hair is also so much lighter than Addie's was at this age. She is getting so strong and can roll from her back to front now. How is she getting so big already?!

Okay, so another scary picture of Addie. What can I say - she's a girl and she likes to pose. She got a new outfit (which she'll tell you is from Old Navy if you ask her) and she wanted a picture specifically for her Aunt Kristin. Sorry - Aunt Kristin is the favorite right now since she's coming to see us.Olivia experienced her first bath with her big sister. I'm not sure if she'll ever be the same. Addie has a blast - Olivia wasn't sure what to think. At least she didn't cry.

Addie was so excited to wear her cheerleading outfit. Some of our friends had us over for the BYU football game. She looked so cute.

Okay, so this is Addie's new obsession lately. She has to bring down all of her stuffed animals and line them up on the couch and asks me to take a picture. It honestly happens a couple times a day.And then she'll grab whatever she can to make a "train" across the floor in the front room. If you look closely, you can see the phone, wipes and even Olivia's toys make up the train. It is the weirdest thing but it makes her happy.

My Girls

Addie and Olivia have become so cute together. Olivia just lights up when Addie walks into the room. And Addie keeps us all entertained. Life is a party to her. It's all about having fun. I thought I'd post some pictures of both of them. Olivia is just getting too big too fast.

This is my sweet little Olivia just a few weeks ago.

This is Olivia just a few days ago. She is getting so chunky and so smiley. We just love her cute personality. We even get quite a few giggles from her already.Addie loves to sit and entertain Olivia. Olivia is already braving the bumbo chair. After a little while in it though her neck starts to get a little tired and she starts doing the roll on deodorant dance.
I tried to take pictures of the two of them wearing the same outfits (courtesy of Aunt Sheri) but decided it wasn't a good idea after Addie dropped Olivia on our front steps. Oops!
This couch is a much safer place to set them side by side. :)

Addie has become quite the fashion designer lately. Every day when I go in to get her from her nap/quiet time, I'm always curious to see what she's going to be wearing. I was a little nervous when I saw this the other day - it is the skirt to her Sleeping Beauty dress up but she had it hiked up with the sleeping beauty high heels. Am I in trouble or what?!

Our First Erie Visitors!

Brad and Jaime made the long drive from North Carolina to come and visit us this weekend. They got here on Saturday evening and we just relaxed and ate pizza that night. Sunday we ventured up to Niagara Falls. It was absolutely beautiful but downpoured on us while we were there. The only consolation there is that if we didn't get wet in the rain we would've been soaked on the Maid of the Mist. Monday we went to Presque Isle to hang out at the beach and then we BBQed that night. I totally forgot my camera for the beach so sorry no pictures at the beach from me. And then they drove home Tuesday. Addie had so much fun and misses her cousins already. They were really cute and kept trying to protect "the princess" - as if we don't already have a hard enough time trying to convince her that she's not a princess. :) Thanks Brad and Jaime for being our first visitors! Who's coming next. . .

This is a picture of the Canadian Falls from the Maid of the Mist. I can't believe how close they take you to the falls. They are so powerful - I was starting to get nervous for a minute. But it was worth the boat ride to see them so close and feel their power.

I couldn't resist this cute little picture of Addie. She hated keeping the hood on her head from the raincoat so I had to tie it tight so she couldn't get it off.

This is all of us at the falls. Olivia had a blowout in the car on the way up. Luckily Jaime had an extra outfit for Garrett because I was not prepared at all. So yes she does look like a boy in this picture. Poor thing.

Fun in Erie!

Okay, so this last month has been a whirlwind. We have had so much fun exploring Erie (zoo, children's museum, beach, baseball games, etc) and all that it has to offer, making great new friends and getting settled. So I need to play catch up and just post a bunch of pictures including the 4th of July.

This is Addie with her cute friend Max. This was on the 4th of July. We had a BBQ at the beach with a bunch of friends. It was a lot of fun!

This is Olivia enjoying the 4th in her car seat. At least she looks cute.

On the night of the 4th, we went over to a friends house and did sparklers, snaps and some fun fireworks. This is Addie enjoying her sparklers and hating the loud fireworks. I think the guys had more fun putting on the fireworks show than the little kids did watching it. Most of them were a little scared. But we had a great 4th. We also went to a ward breakfast that morning and started celebrating the night before at a baseball game with fireworks and friends.

We miss our friends in North Carolina but we are loving Erie and enjoying the new friends that we are making here. Nick started residency two weeks ago and is really enjoying it. The first year he has to rotate through different surgery specialties as well as a month of medicine. But he lucked out and started out with a month of ortho first, so he's happy. And of course he found his way onto a Hamot softball team - can't leave the important things behind. Once he finds a hunting, fishing and golfing companion, he'll be set. So everything is great with us.

Our Sweet Little Olivia

We have been so busy since having Olivia that sometimes I forget that I have two kids. Even though she doesn't look like it in this picture, she is such a good content baby that she doesn't help to remind me that she's here either.

She has become so smiley recently and really recognizes her sister Addie. Although I don't know who wouldn't recognize the girl that is literally in your face 24/7 (it really is cute). But she seems to love every second of it. And I love that Addie is happy to be a big sister. She is a great helper.
